Chris Works with Gap Inc. to Design "Connecting Youth and Business" Toolkit

Last week at the White House (yes, the one in Washington D.C.!), Gap Inc. launched the "Connecting Youth & Business" toolkit designed to help businesses launch or expand programs to support underserved youth. Since last Fall, I have been working closely with the Gap Foundation teams in San Francisco and New York on the visual design for the toolkit.

The toolkit is designed for companies of all sizes, and contains lots of detailed information and resources. Therefore, a clutter free, digestible, and easy to navigate system was essential when developing the concept. Through color- and graphic-based systems, readers are guided through the processes of assessing their companies' capabilities for engaging youth, piloting a variety of youth-centric programs, and assessing these programs' impact on their company and community.

Gap Foundation President Bobbi Silten helped lead the development of the toolkit in partnership with McKinsey & Company, Corporate Voices for Working Families, and the Taproot Foundation. Interested in seeing how it turned out? Download a PDF of the toolkit here.
